If you email me and don't hear back from me within 24 hours, please call me at 901 258 8550...I have been told that people have NOT been receiving my replies..
I am a very friendly person and easy to talk to -I pride my self on my small breeding program , while having quick replies and a happy go lucky attitude .
So you want to buy a puppy??
First of all congratulations on your decision to add a fur member to your home!!! This is a huge life long commitment, and I hope you have put serious thought and decisions into it as the holiday season approaches. Many think a puppy would make a wonderful gift, not quite considering the seriousness of the addition. At the same time I want to bring you buyers attention the things you ask of breeders.
Can I come to your home to view the puppies??
While in an ideal world this seems like a completely reasonable request, but have you thought that you are a stranger we are "supposed to welcome" into our home, we don't know you,we don't know your intentions, are you a good person or are you scoping out our home to see what we have to come back when we aren't home to take our puppies, adult dogs or possessions?? Have you watched the news recently to see how many breeders have been beaten, held at gun point to have their precious babies stolen? Sadly this is what this world is coming to. Poor economy? People wanting to make an "easy" buck? Our policy is that I DO allow my depositor families to come over on puppy pick up day (puppies will be 7 to 8 weeks of age) , I do not however allow visitors to come over and view my very young puppies before it is time for them to go home..
Are you aware of the virus' and diseases that are airborne?
Sadly vaccines can't protect our babies prior to the first vet visit, a mom's protection will only go so far. Human colds and dog parasites, virus and bacteria cling to skin, shoes, clothing. Do you realize a puppy has a compromised and building immune system and pre-exposure can be deadly to a little baby. We don't know what pet store you have visited recently, what cart handle you touched, what breeder has allowed you into their home (do they have serious cleanliness protocol, de-worming practices, are their animals infected with kennel cough?) all these things can travel on you as a visitor from place to place. Do you realize that piece of poop you may have stepped on and didn't realize will release trace particles of parasites, possible dog orientated sexually transmitted diseases, or other issues that can cost a good breeder thousands to treat their dogs, puppies other household pets and possibly themselves. This can wipe out an entire breeding program which some amazing breeders have spent years building, growing and researching to give you the best, cutest, healthiest, social baby we can possibly produce.
Do you jump to the PUPPY MILL conclusion when breeders do not allow random visits?
I personally get to know my potential families so that we can build a relationship based on Trust, I will post many videos and pictures on our Facebook page almost daily so that everyone can watch the puppies grow and mature. I will gladly discuss puppies temperaments, and attitude to make the best possible pick to fit your home and family. I will video the puppy areas and show you the parents if they reside with us (many times an outside stud will be used to make a litter from another breeder, or with our Guardian home practice a mother is pet home raised in a family home and comes back to the breeder to have her puppies and then returns to her forever home which reduces the stress and re home when she is retired)
Do you take your current pet to a dog park?
While you may be the BEST responsible pet owner that vaccinates and deworms their family pet regularly- can you say the same for every other dog you encounter at said park? Do you realize that what you are exposed to stays on shoes, coats, gloves etc and goes everywhere with you. I'm in no way saying that every dog is diseased or infected but I do believe that a dog park could be and probably is a cesspool of disease with the contaminated saliva, and excrement there.
With all I have brought up we have implemented and follow a closed door policy for our home WHILE we are raising young puppies. Many pet owners will not come to terms with our protocol and I'm truly sorry we aren't the breeder for you as we have some amazing puppies. We welcome families to come meet us during the months we do NOT have any puppies ( you can meet me and our adult dogs )Another little bit of information is that we NO longer hold a puppy reservation without a deposit. We have held without in the past only to have passed up many amazing homes on the promise that they will take the puppy Then have that same family back out last minute and those interested homes have since found a puppy. So for that reason we will only reserve with deposit.
I am a professional breeder who lives, breathes and puts my life into every baby I bring into this world. We health guarantee our puppies, and vet check every puppy before they leave our home. Our babies are contracted to come back to us first in the event they can not spend their entire life with you so not one will end up in a shelter. We send them home with food, blanket and toys to ease the transition. If you have read this entire Tidbit of Information and agree or even disagree at least maybe I have given you food for thought into why some breeders are taking this approach with potential buyers. The ones that still welcome you into their home have maybe not suffered a loss or fear induced from a stranger that had ill intentions like we have. If I can assist you with your search for the perfect Labrador Puppy , I will be more than Happy to help.
Thank you for your time
